what we treat

Neck injuries

Desk necks, pinched nerves, whiplash — plus the upper back and thoracic spine trouble that travels with them. One therapist, hands on, start to finish.

Neck and upper back discomfort
does this resonate with you

Neck injuries follow you all day. No two arrive the same way.

Tech neck

Stiffness and ache that builds over a workday at a screen and eases on the weekend.

Headaches from the neck

A headache that starts at the base of the skull and creeps up behind one eye.

Pain down the arm

Pain, numbness or tingling running past the shoulder into the arm or hand — the pattern people call a pinched nerve.

The morning crick

Waking up with a neck that’s locked to one side and won’t turn without the whole body coming along.

Stiffness

Turning your head far enough to drive, swim, or look over your shoulder has become a project.

Upper back pain

A stubborn knot in the upper back that no amount of stretching seems to reach.

If one of these is yours, you're in the right place. If your case is different, tell us — we'll say honestly whether we're the right fit.

how we treat it

Find what's driving it. Treat it. Load it so it holds.

01

An assessment, not a template

We find what sets your neck off — screen time, turning, reaching, sleeping — and test how your neck, upper back and shoulders actually move, including any nerve symptoms down the arm. Imaging is context; the exam is the driver.

02

Treatment that works

Manual therapy to calm the painful segment and restore how your neck and upper back move — paired with progressive strength work for the neck, shoulders and postural muscles so the change holds.

03

Education and support

You leave knowing what's driving your neck trouble, what the words on your imaging actually mean, and what to do next — a home program that comes to you, not a photocopied sheet.

We measure where measuring helps. Force plates, dynamometry and gait analysis mean the decision to progress you — or hold you back — comes from a number rather than an impression.

quick answers
Do I need an MRI or a referral first?

No to both. California is a direct-access state, and the exam — not imaging — drives treatment. If you already have imaging, bring the report and we’ll tell you what the words actually mean for you.

How many visits does a neck injury take?

Most plans of care run 6 to 12 visits — weekly at first, spaced out as you improve. You’ll have an estimate for your neck at the end of your first visit.

Is it my posture?

Sometimes a factor, rarely the whole story — which is exactly what the first visit sorts out. We examine what reproduces your symptoms, start treating the same visit, and tell you what’s safe to keep doing.
